A conversation for the cannabis community

People.
Planet.
Responsibility.

A more responsible cannabis sector begins with the choices we make together—for our communities, our environment, and the way we do business.

Our purpose

Put responsibility
into everyday practice.

Canna Social Responsibility is a space to explore how the cannabis community can contribute to a fairer, more thoughtful, and environmentally aware economy.

Our focus is on how businesses act and how communities are heard: respect for people, care for shared resources, honest communication, and a willingness to be accountable.

We welcome dialogue among businesses, educators, advocates, and community members who want to turn these values into practical commitments.

Four principles

Good intentions.
Visible commitments.

A starting point for thoughtful decisions, meaningful conversations, and responsible growth.

01 /

Respect people.

Support dignity at work, fair opportunity, and accessible communication. Invite perspectives from the people affected by business decisions, including those whose voices are often overlooked.

02 /

Care for the environment.

Look closely at energy, water, materials, and waste. Choose specific improvements, document the starting point, and share progress honestly rather than relying on broad environmental claims.

03 /

Act with integrity.

Make clear commitments and communicate them accurately. Be transparent about business practices, acknowledge limitations, and distinguish aspirations from achievements.

04 /

Listen to communities.

Build relationships through listening and respectful dialogue. Ask what local communities need, respond to concerns, and develop contributions in partnership with the people they are meant to support.

From values to action

Start small.
Make it meaningful.

Responsibility grows through consistent choices. Use these three steps to begin a conversation with your team or community.

  1. Choose one commitment.

Identify a practical priority where your organization can make a useful contribution.

  2. Listen before deciding.

Ask employees, neighbors, and relevant community groups what a worthwhile improvement would look like.

  3. Review and share.

Set a review date, describe what changed, and be open about what still needs work.
